Acronym for Translation Memory eXchange format.
This is an XML based format introduced in 1998 by the OSCAR group at LISA. The purpose of this format it to ease translation memory data exchange between CAT tools and/or localization vendors.

It is important to keep in mind that the presence of inline codes and different segmentation schemes may greatly alter translation memory interoperability.
