geolocation

[Article still incomplete]

Pinpointing the geographical location of a user based on his/her IP address. It used to better target advertising, detect fraud, direct users to the proper localized version of a site, etc. It should be noted that geolocation is not an exact science and that the use of client side firewall and/or proxy may greatly decrease its accuracy.
